Manchester wedding photographer: best of 2018

Ah 2018! What a year! 2018 was a year of colourful confetti, belly laughs, happy tears and the hottest summer for yonks! My couples had really different types of weddings - festival, back garden, church, manor house, pub garden, rugby pitch, barn - but the one thing they all had in common? Mega laid back, wonderful human beings who all knew how to throw an awesome party!

In 2018 I moved from Brighton to Manchester - a pretty huge and exciting change! I’m looking forward to meeting lots of lovely Manchester couples over the next year and exploring the city more in the summer.

I love this job so much, and I just want to say an enormous thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fantastic couples who put their trust in me and allow me to be a part of their day. You all rock! And thank you to all the wonderful suppliers I have met and worked with over the year for making this job even more fun. It took me longer than I’d expected to create this post as it was genuinely so tough to whittle last year’s photos down to a manageable amount!

Steph + Tony: Humanist DIY garden wedding

I can’t get enough of this wedding. Steph + Tony had the most gorgeous humanist ceremony (performed by their friend!) under an enormous pear tree in front of their favourite people. The reception was held in a cattle barn (cows removed especially for the occasion) with golden cows as name places and famous couples illustrated as centrepieces (illustrations also by a friend).

The ceiling of the barn was illuminated with festoon lights and golden garlands to create constellations, complete with a homemade disco ball…made out of a freaking space hopper…a SPACE HOPPER (also made by a friend - what a talented bunch!)!

Steph looked like a retro goddess in her 50’s style dress by Lou Lou Bridal (customised by Hen House Brides), with the most gorgeous bouquet by Emma at Stems Florist. Such beautiful flowers!

You know I love me a confetti shot and as far as I am concerned, the more colour the better. This did not disappoint. NOT. AT. ALL.

This was my first wedding with a traditional ceilidh dance - it looked like the most fun thing ever. AND, if all this wasn’t good and exciting enough, I just so happened to go to both primary and secondary school with Steph, so it was particularly wonderful to watch her tying the knot with the love of her life.

Here is their day…

Ida + Murray: Yoghurt Rooms Wedding Photographer

EEK - I am so excited to share this wedding with you! Ida + Murray had a scorching hot, June wedding at the epic venue that is the Yoghurt Rooms. It’s up there with my favourite venues (I recently had a wedding I shot there featured on Love My Dress - woo!!).

Their wedding ticked all the boxes for me; laid-back, fun, full of laughter and dancing, and enormous quantities of confetti (oh the confetti!! It was what confetti dreams are made of). And of course, Ida + Murray are both bloody gorgeous, and I’m still swooning over Ida’s dress and flower crown <3

I adored shooting this wedding - I think you’ll see why….
